Welcome to Astarte Biologics, the best place to purchase human or murine immune cells. We characterize our blood donors and purified cells so you can be sure of the quality of the cells you purchase. All PBMC are tested for recall antigen responses; purified cell types are checked by flow cytometric analysis for enrichment of the desired cell type. Many of our donors are HLA typed. All donors are tested for blood borne pathogens and must be negative for these infections in order to participate. Donors have given informed consent and our collection protocol has been reviewed by an accredited Investigational Review Board for compliance with international standards of human research. In addition to our cell products we have reagents for inflammation research. Our Rheumera® kits measure type I and type II collagen, proteoglycans and autoantibodies to type II collagen. Also our HUVEC E-Selectin kit measures expression of E-Selectin on endothelial cells. Our lipopolysaccharides are characterized too. These bind to specific toll-like receptors (TLR) and are great tools for investigating the role of TLR in immunity and inflammation. Here are a few tips for navigating our current site. All of our products have a 4 or 5 digit catalog number. Our cell products also have a lot number separated from the catalog number by a dash. These lot numbers just separate one batch of cells from another so you can select just the donor you want or even get two separate collections of the same donor. If you click on the product name in each product table you'll get to a page where you can access the certificate of analysis and see data specific to each lot. Also, if you place your cursor over the donor number you will see the donor's age, gender, blood type and other information. |
Astarte Biologics has mouse cells to match its human cell inventory. Mouse bone marrow cells, spleen cells, macrophages and dendritic cells come with flow cytometric analysis data and are ready to use.
Purified NK cells are now available from Astarte Biologics. NK cells are important effector cells in combating viral infections and neoplasms as they target cells that have lost or down-regulated MHC class I. NK cells purified from normal PBMC are CD56+ and CD11c positive, CD3 negative.

Astarte Biologics has isolated PBMC and plasma from individuals with rheumatoid arthritis. RF and CCP values are available on most donors as are the medications they are taking for their illness. Cells are tested for responses to recall antigens.
