When all you need are some spleen cells, or bone marrow or dendritic cells think of Astarte Biologics instead of your mouse colony.
Astarte Biologics offers cryopreserved murine immune system cells ready for use in your experiments. The spleen cells can be used as feeder cells or as controls in flow cytometric analysis. Bone marrow cells are responsive to growth factors and can be used to derive macrophages or dendritic cells.
We also have cryopreserved mouse dendritic cells and peritoneal macrophages. The DC are cultured from bone marrow using murine recombinant GM-CSF. Expression of CD11c and CD86 is included in the certificate of analysis for each lot. Mouse macrophages are isolated by peritoneal lavage four days after inoculation with thioglycollate. This is a classic technique that attracts immune cells to the peritoneum. Granulocytes migrate into the peritoneum within a few hours of thioglycollate injection and macrophages accumulate after several days.
