Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that affects 1.3 million Americans.  Immune cells invade joints secreting cytokines that cause swelling and pain. The chronic inflammatory process causes thickening of the synovium with eventual loss of joint mobility. 

Astarte Biologics, LLC has isolated PBMC from the peripheral blood of people with RA to assist research into this debilitating disease.  Each lot is tested for viability and function.  Plasma samples are also available for some lots of PBMC. We are continuing to add to our list of donors and to the list of information available on each donor.  Our new donors are providing information on their past medications as well as current medications and when they have experienced disease flares.
